Frequently Asked Questions
What does membership include?
Membership includes access to an unlimited number of monthly office visits, prescription medication management, direct access to your provider (call, text, video call), and greatly discounted prices for medication and lab work. For more information see our Membership page.
How do I pay for my membership?
The monthly membership fee is paid directly to the clinic. Our clinic is currently accepting credit/debit card payments or direct debit from your bank account. Automatic debit occurs on the 1st or the 15th of every month--whichever you choose.
Is membership like insurance coverage?
No. A membership is not an insurance plan. We recommend that you pair membership with a high-deductible/major medical insurance plan or share-of-cost plan in the event that emergency or specialist care or hospital visits are necessary. Most general health care needs can be addressed in the clinic and are covered under the monthly membership fee, however it is recommended to retain some level of health insurance to cover major events. The kind of insurance coverage you choose or whether or not you carry health insurance is your decision.
What if I already have medical insurance?
Our membership is open to everyone, with or without insurance. SharmaCare does not bill any health insurance company. You may use your health insurance for any prescriptions not filled in the clinic, specialist referrals, any imaging that is ordered.
Do you accept Medicare / Medicaid?
SharmaCare doesn't bill any insurance plan. The provider sees patient regardless of insurance status. Fees are the same whether you have insurance coverage or not. Please note: direct primary care does not meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes. There is no minimum time commitment and you can cancel your membership at any time without penalty by notifying our office. Outstanding balances must be paid in full before cancellation is processed.
Do I still pay the monthly fee if I don't need to see the provider that month?
Yes. You may see the provider as many times per month as needed, and the fee still applies if you don't see the provider that month.
